Homemade Sloppy Joes
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely diced
- 1 small green bell pepper, diced (optional but classic)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
Sauce
- ¾ cup ketchup
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp brown sugar (or less to taste)
- 1 tsp mustard (yellow or Dijon)
- ½ tsp paprika
- Salt & pepper
For serving
- Soft hamburger buns
Instructions
- Brown the beef
Cook beef in a skillet over medium heat. Drain excess fat. - Add veggies
Stir in onion, pepper, and garlic. Cook until soft. - Make it sloppy
Add all sauce ingredients. Stir well. - Simmer
Lower heat and simmer 10–15 minutes until thick. - Serve
Pile high on toasted buns. Napkins mandatory.
