Banana Bread

Classic comfort incoming 🍌💛 Here’s a no-fail banana bread—moist, cozy, and smells unreal while baking.

Banana Bread

Ingredients

  • 3 very ripe bananas, mashed
  • ½ cup melted butter (or neutral oil)
  • ¾ cup sugar (use ½ white + ¼ brown for best flavor)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon (optional but excellent)
  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour

Optional add-ins (pick your fighter):

  • ½ cup chopped walnuts or pecans
  • ½ cup chocolate chips
  • ¼ cup shredded coconut
  • Cinnamon-sugar swirl on top

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5 loaf pan.
  2. In a bowl, mash bananas until mostly smooth.
  3. Stir in melted butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla.
  4. Sprinkle baking soda, salt, and cinnamon over the mixture and stir in.
  5. Gently fold in flour until just combined (don’t overmix).
  6. Fold in any add-ins.
  7. Pour into pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake 50–60 minutes, until a toothpick comes out mostly clean.
  9. Cool 10 minutes in the pan, then transfer to a rack.

Pro Tips

  • Extra moist? Swap ¼ cup sugar for sour cream or Greek yogurt.
  • Crispy top? Sprinkle raw sugar on top before baking.
  • Bananas not ripe? Bake them (peel on) at 300°F for 15–20 min until blackened.
