Here’s a simple, delicious Cheesy Asparagus recipe—perfect as a quick side dish 🧀🥦


Cheesy Asparagus

Ingredients

  • 1 lb fresh asparagus, trimmed
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • Salt & black pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a mix)
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 clove garlic, minced (optional)

Instructions (Oven Method)

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (205°C).
  2. Prep asparagus
    • Place asparagus on a baking sheet.
    • Drizzle with olive oil, add garlic (if using), salt, and pepper.
    • Toss to coat and spread in a single layer.
  3. Roast
    • Bake for 10–12 minutes until tender-crisp.
  4. Add cheese
    • Sprinkle shredded cheese and Parmesan evenly over asparagus.
  5. Melt & brown
    • Return to oven for 3–5 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Serve immediately

Quick Skillet Version

  • Sauté asparagus in butter over medium heat for 5–7 minutes.
  • Add garlic, then sprinkle cheese on top.
  • Cover with a lid for 2–3 minutes until melted.

Variations & Tips

  • 🥓 Add cooked bacon crumbles for extra flavor.
  • 🍋 Finish with a squeeze of lemon juice.
  • 🌶️ Sprinkle red pepper flakes for heat.
  • 🧄 Garlic lovers: add garlic powder or roasted garlic.
