Crockpot Goulash

Here’s a simple and delicious Crockpot Goulash recipe you can try:


Ingredients (6–8 servings)

  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef (or ground turkey for a lighter version)
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 can (15 oz / 425g) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (8 oz / 225g) tomato sauce
  • 2 cups beef broth (or water + bouillon)
  • 2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni
  • 1 tsp paprika (smoked paprika if you like)
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional, for topping)

Instructions

  1. Brown the meat:
    In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
  2. Combine ingredients in crockpot:
    Add the cooked meat, onion, garlic, bell pepper, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, beef broth, paprika, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to the crockpot. Stir to combine.
  3. Cook low and slow:
    Cover and cook on low for 6–7 hours or high for 3–4 hours.
  4. Add pasta:
    About 30–40 minutes before serving, stir in the uncooked elbow macaroni. Cover and cook until pasta is tender.
  5. Optional cheese topping:
    Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the goulash before serving for a creamy, cheesy finish.
  6. Serve:
    Ladle into bowls and enjoy! Great with crusty bread or a side salad.

  • For a thicker sauce, reduce the beef broth slightly.
  • You can add chopped mushrooms or carrots for extra veggies.
  • Leftovers taste even better the next day!
