A Ridiculously Easy Way to Clean the INSIDE of Your Windshield (NO Haze or Streaks)

Posted on February 13, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a ridiculously easy, no-haze, no-streak method to clean the inside of your windshield 👇

🚗✨ The 10-Minute, No-Streak Windshield Method

🧼 What You’ll Need

  • 2 clean microfiber cloths (important!)
  • Rubbing alcohol (70% or higher)
  • Distilled water
  • Small spray bottle
  • Optional: a reach-and-clean windshield tool (helps a lot)

🧪 Step 1: Mix a Simple Cleaner

In a spray bottle, combine:

  • 1 cup distilled water
  • 1 cup rubbing alcohol

That’s it.
(Alcohol cuts grease and evaporates fast — which prevents streaks.)

🧽 Step 2: Wipe in Two Phases

🔹 First Pass (Remove Film)

  1. Lightly spray the cloth (NOT the glass directly).
  2. Wipe the windshield in vertical strokes.
  3. Focus on corners where dashboard film builds up.

This removes the oily residue that causes haze — especially from off-gassing plastics inside your car.

🔹 Second Pass (Polish & Prevent Streaks)

  1. Take a dry microfiber cloth.
  2. Wipe in horizontal strokes.

💡 Pro Tip:
Use vertical strokes on the inside and horizontal on the outside.
If you see streaks later, you’ll instantly know which side they’re on.

🚫 What NOT to Do

  • Don’t use paper towels (they lint).
  • Don’t oversaturate the glass.
  • Don’t clean in direct sunlight (causes flash drying and streaks).
  • Avoid ammonia-based cleaners (can damage tint).

🌫 Why Windshields Get Hazy

That cloudy film is usually:

  • Plastic off-gassing from dashboard materials
  • Smoke/vape residue
  • Airborne oils
  • Interior protectant overspray

Alcohol cuts through it fast without leaving residue.
