Ingredients (makes ~4 patties)

  • 1 (14–15 oz) can of salmon, drained and bones removed (or cooked fresh salmon, flaked)
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs (panko works great for crispiness)
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped bell pepper or celery (optional)
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1–2 tbsp mayonnaise or Greek yogurt
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard (optional, adds zing)
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika (smoked paprika is amazing)
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Cooking spray or a little oil

Instructions

  1. Mix the ingredients: In a bowl, combine salmon, breadcrumbs, onion, egg, mayo, mustard, and seasonings. Mix gently—don’t overmix or patties will be dense.
  2. Form patties: Shape the mixture into 3–4 patties, about ¾–1 inch thick.
  3. Preheat the air fryer: 375°F (190°C) for 3–5 minutes.
  4. Cook the patties: Lightly spray or brush the air fryer basket and patties with oil. Place patties in the basket, leaving space between them. Air fry 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and cooked through.
  5. Serve: With tartar sauce, lemon wedges, or a side salad.

  • For extra crispiness, lightly coat patties in panko breadcrumbs before air frying.
  • If using fresh salmon, cook it first, flake it, and let it cool slightly before mixing.
