Here’s a classic Southern-style Crab Boil Platter with EXTRA corn energy.
🦀 CRAB BOIL PLATTER (WITH EXTRA CORN)
Feeds 4–6 (or 2 very determined people)
Ingredients
Seafood
- 3–4 lbs crab legs (snow or king)
- 1 lb shrimp (shell-on, deveined)
Veggies & Add-Ins
- 6–8 ears corn, cut in half (yes, extra 🌽)
- 1½ lbs baby potatoes
- 1 smoked sausage, sliced (andouille or kielbasa)
- 1 lemon, halved
- 1 head garlic, halved
Boil Seasoning
- 1 large crab boil seasoning packet (Zatarain’s / Old Bay boil)
- 2 tbsp Old Bay (or Cajun seasoning)
- 1 tbsp paprika
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp onion powder
- 1–2 tsp cayenne (to taste)
- 2 bay leaves
- Salt if needed
Instructions
1️⃣ Boil Base
- Fill a large pot with water (enough to cover everything).
- Add seasoning packet, spices, lemon, garlic, and bay leaves.
- Bring to a rolling boil.
2️⃣ Potatoes First
- Add potatoes.
- Boil 10–12 minutes until just starting to soften.
3️⃣ Corn Party
- Add ALL that corn 🌽
- Boil 5 minutes.
4️⃣ Sausage & Seafood
- Add sausage and shrimp.
- Add crab legs last.
- Boil 4–5 minutes until shrimp are pink and crab is heated through.
5️⃣ Drain
- Turn off heat, drain well.
- Optional: let everything sit in the pot 5 minutes for extra soak.
🔥 Garlic Butter Cajun Sauce (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED)
Melt together:
- 1½ cups butter
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp Old Bay
- 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
- 1 tsp paprika
- ½ tsp cayenne
- Juice of ½ lemon
- Splash of hot sauce
Simmer 2–3 minutes. Pour generously 😮💨

- Dump everything onto a lined table or giant platter
- Extra butter sauce on the side
- Lemon wedges + parsley
