Here’s a simple and delicious recipe for Fried Cabbage with Bacon, Onion, and Garlic 🥓🥬


🥬 Ingredients

  • 6 slices Bacon, chopped
  • 1 medium Cabbage, chopped
  • 1 medium Onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1–2 tbsp Olive Oil or butter (optional)
  • ½ tsp salt (adjust to taste)
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • Optional: pinch of red pepper flakes for heat

🍳 Instructions

  1. Cook the bacon
    • In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the chopped bacon until crispy.
    • Remove the bacon and set aside, leaving the bacon grease in the pan.
  2. Sauté onion and garlic
    • Add the sliced onion to the skillet and cook for about 3–4 minutes until soft.
    • Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add cabbage
    • Add the chopped cabbage to the skillet.
    • Stir well so it coats in the bacon fat.
  4. Cook until tender
    • Cook for about 8–12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage softens and slightly browns.
  5. Season and finish
    • Add salt, black pepper, and optional red pepper flakes.
    • Stir the crispy bacon back into the cabbage.
  6. Serve
    • Serve warm as a side dish or even as a main with bread or rice.

⭐ Tips

  • For extra flavor, add a splash of Apple Cider Vinegar at the end.
  • A little Paprika or smoked paprika gives it a smoky taste.
