Here’s a classic grilled cheese sandwich—simple, crispy, and perfectly melty 🧀

🥪 Classic Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Ingredients (1 sandwich)

  • 2 slices of bread (white, sourdough, or whole wheat)
  • 1–2 slices cheese (American, cheddar, or a mix)
  • 1–2 tbsp butter, softened
    (or mayonnaise for extra crisp)

Instructions

  1. Butter the bread
    Spread butter on one side of each slice.
  2. Assemble
    Place cheese between the unbuttered sides of bread.
  3. Grill
    Heat a skillet over medium-low heat.
    Place sandwich in the pan and cook 3–4 minutes until golden brown.
  4. Flip & finish
    Flip carefully and cook another 3–4 minutes until the cheese melts and bread is crispy.
  5. Serve
    Rest 1 minute, slice, and enjoy.

🔥 Tips

  • Keep heat medium-low so cheese melts before bread burns.
  • Cover the pan for the last minute to help cheese melt.
  • Add tomato, bacon, or caramelized onions for upgrades.
