Limescale and stains on pans: how to remove them easily without detergent

Limescale and stubborn stains often build up on pans after repeated cooking or boiling water. The good news is that you can remove them easily without using detergent by using simple household ingredients.


What Causes Limescale on Pans?

Limescale forms when hard water minerals (mainly calcium and magnesium) remain on the surface after water evaporates. Over time, these minerals leave white or cloudy deposits that can make pans look dirty or dull.


1. Vinegar Method (Most Effective)

What you need:

  • White vinegar
  • Water

Steps:

  1. Pour equal parts water and white vinegar into the pan.
