🍇 Old-Fashioned Blackberry Cobbler

For the filling:
- 4 cups fresh blackberries (or frozen, not thawed)
- ¾–1 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
For the batter topping:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted

- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare the berries:
In a bowl, gently mix blackberries, sugar, lemon juice, cornstarch, and cinnamon. Set aside. - Melt the butter:
Pour melted butter into a 9×9-inch baking dish (or similar size). Do not stir. - Make the batter:
In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir in milk until smooth. - Assemble (don’t stir!):
- Pour batter evenly over the melted butter (do not mix).
- Spoon blackberry mixture evenly over the batter (again, do not stir).
- Bake for 45–55 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the filling is bubbling.
- Cool slightly before serving to allow filling to set.
