🥣 Ingredients:

For the patties:

  • 500g ground beef
  • ¼ cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 small onion, finely grated or minced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

For the mushroom gravy:

  • 2 tbsp butter or oil
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

👩‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. Make the patties
    In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, garlic, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
    Mix gently and form into oval patties.
  2. Cook the patties
    Heat a pan over medium heat with a little oil. Cook patties for 4–5 minutes per side until browned.
    Remove and set aside (they’ll finish cooking in the gravy).
  3. Prepare the gravy
    In the same pan, melt butter and sauté onions and mushrooms until soft and browned.
  4. Make it thick
    Sprinkle in flour and cook for 1–2 minutes, stirring constantly.
  5. Add liquid
    Slowly pour in beef broth while whisking to avoid lumps. Add Worcestershire sauce.
  6. Simmer with patties
    Return patties to the pan, cover, and simmer for 10–15 minutes until cooked through and gravy thickens.
  7. Serve
    Spoon mushroom gravy over the patties and serve hot.
